Is Age Really Just a Number?? Follow These 4 Women as they Clock 50
Ladies, is age really just a number? Does the big 50 come with
anxiety, fear, regrets, or joy, fulfilment, achievements, peace and all?
Before you choose to answer, I’d like you to meet these 4 African contemporary women, who must do all it takes to overcome adversities and adversaries to shine. Meet Tola (Dakore Akande), Elizabeth (Iretiola Doyle), Maria (Omoni Oboli), and Kate (Nse Ikpe- Etim) in a blockbuster movie, Fifty.
Produced by Mo Abudu’s EbonyLife Films, Fifty captures the life of four Nigerian women at their various career peaks. Tola, Elizabeth, Maria, and Kate are four friends who at midlife inadvertently take a close look at the direction of their lives, from juggling between careers and family, while maintaining their repute in the upper class neighbourhood where they all reside in.
Tola is a reality TV star whose marriage to lawyer Kunle never stood a chance, thanks to an unpleasant secret. Elizabeth is a celebrated obstetrician whose penchant for younger men has estranged her from her daughter. Forty-nine year-old Maria has an affair with a married man that results in an unexpected pregnancy and Kate’s battle with a life-threatening illness plunges her into religious obsession.
The movie also has special guest in music stars like King Sunny Ade, Femi Kuti, Nneka, Waje, and Tiwa Savage. It also has performances from actors like Wale Ojo, Emmanuel ikubese, Kemi “Lala” Akindoju, Uzor Osimkpa, and a host of others.
Executively produced by Mo Abudu, it has Biyi Bandele at the helm of affairs (director), Tope Oshin-Ogun (producer), and Malcolm Mclean (Director of Photography).
The premiere is slated for the 18th of December, 2015.
