Modern with a Traditional Twist! Rising Design label Conae presents the “Ageless” 2015 Collection

Unconventional, unique & all made with traditional fabric – rising fashion label, Conae Insignia is bringing a distinct eye to Nigerian fashion.

Started in July 2014, the Conae Insignia fashion brand is here with a sequel to its first collection – ‘Link to My Root’; and is offering cut-outs, fringed hemlines, plunging necklines and capes in its 2015 collection, ‘Ageless’.

The designer, Chinenyenwa Ekejiuba, who makes all her pieces from the traditional material, had this to say about the collection and her design process. “I decided to use the George fabric because I feel it is unique and will never go out of fashion. I launched my first collection called “Link to my Root” which was intended to show that the fabric, although being traditional, can be used to make outfits that can be worn in modern fashion. To change the idea of people who think it is only used to tie as wrappers during traditional weddings and in Nollywood movies.”

The ‘Ageless’ collection is dedicated to showing the timeless nature of the traditional fabric with pieces meant for every woman of every age. And has been created to give every woman a sense of confidence, uniqueness and class.
